One of Those Days

I'm having one of those days. One of those weeks, actually. The kind of week when so many things seem to be going "so wrong." The stress of life is getting to me. I find myself daydreaming about days when I could sleep through the night and weekends when I could sleep till 9 or 10 am. Times when I had the money to go out to eat whenever I wanted or to just do what I wanted, when I wanted. But responsibilities have entered the picture, and that just doesn't happen anymore.

This week I have worried about money, worried about paying for the things that we often take for granted-putting food on the table, washing clothes, putting gas in the car. And on top of all that, my car needs a new alternator. UGGH!!! But in the midst of my worry, God has spoken to my heart in small ways as well. Providing money from generous family, providing a friend who has offered to let me wash clothes at her house, and providing a gas station right by our house that is offering 5 cents off per gallon during the month of September (not to mention the lower gas prices in general-thank you God!). And through it all, I am continually reminded of the blessings in my life. I have a wonderful family. I have a loving husband, and two precious girls. And I have eternal life. So no matter what may happen here, in this life, there is nothing that can really harm me eternally. And that is something to be truly grateful for.

Here is a picture of the girls-they add the bright spots to my days! (It's amazing how much fun a Huggies box can be!!)

It's so great that you have this perspective--but I know it's hard to keep. One day we'll look back in on our lives and treasure the security and peace God placed in our hearts in times like these. We're praying for you as you pray for us.

The babies are beautiful!!!

Sweet Melissa, I love you! And Happy, Happy Birthday!!(I'm commenting on this post a little late)
I'm sorry the woes of life are weighing you down this week but our faithful God has reminded you of your eternal hope and in turn you have reminded me! This will all pass and soon you will be sleeping well, not have to worry(as much) about finances and maybe go out frequently on dates and dinner! Hang in there, my sweet friend, I love you!
