Save the Children Project

Save the Children's Preemie Hat Project

I recently came across a really neat project on a blog that I frequent.

Save the children is asking volunteers to knit or crochet caps for preemies around the world. I have a lot of baby yarn just sitting around so I thought I would make a few before the deadline. The deadline is January 2nd, which doesn't leave much time with the holidays coming up, but apparently they don't take long to make. I'm sure whatever you can do will help.

For more information, go to http://anewchelseamorning.blogspot.com/2006/12/saving-children.html

She has all the links on her sight for the patterns and project information.

what a sweet idea...i love that the picture shows the baby wrapped "kangaroo" style, too. this is the most therapeutic way to care for a preemie. take some photos of your hats!! we have a lot of knitters at work, i'll let them know about it, too.

This hat is sooo easy to make! I made one yesterday and got halfway done on another one. They really only take 1-1/2 hrs to make. Julie, you should be able to whip out a few yourself!

Yeah, I was taking a look at the pattern yesterday. It's definitely pretty easy. It's just time that I'm lacking at this point...
