Thursday Thirteen #7

Thirteen Things about My Oldest Daughter, Emma

1. She is silly, as shown in the above picture. Whenever we go to take her picture, she likes to pose in a silly position or make a silly face.

2. She's a great big sister, always very protective of little sis.

3. She has a nurturing spirit. She's drawn to babies and little kids. When she sees one, she likes to try to help them to do things the older kids can do. It's very sweet.

4. She loves to sing. A girl after my own heart! She's always walking around singing "Twinkle, Twinkle" or "ABC's" or "The B-I-B-L-E". Right now her favorite Christmas song is "Jingle Bell Rock."

5. She doesn't have a lot of hair. Most people think that I've just chosen to cut her hair short. But no, it just doesn't grow very fast. She's 3 and a half and has never had a haircut!

6. She attends "Cubbies," an AWANA program at our church. I can't say enough how much she loves Cubbies! They have this special vest that they wear and they earn badges by memorizing Scripture verses and attendance, etc. She is so proud of her vest and announces to the teachers every week, "I have my Cubbie vest on!!!"

7. She is great at language. She was an early talker and has always been good at expressing herself. Although, age 3 is a difficult age for any child, and often the self-expression comes in the form of a temper-tantrum and lots of tears. (Right now she's crying because her little sister is following her around and touching her.)

8. She has a great smile and is quite photogenic.

9. She's a leader among her peers. She often can get all the other kids her age to copy her and follow her lead. Yesterday at the playground, she was leading them all in a rousing game of "Follow the Leader." She, of course, was the leader.

10. She loves to watch Caillou, Dora, CareBears, and Barbie's 12 Dancing Princesses. Oh- and of course The Little Mermaid.

11. She's looking forward to being "4" so she can go to school.

12. She enjoys scrapbooking with me and always writes her "E" on each page she makes. "E" is the only letter she knows how to make right now and she is proud of it since that is what her name starts with!

13. She wants a kitchen for Christmas. For the past 2 months, anytime someone asks her what she wants for Christmas, she will reply emphatically, "A Kitchen!" I happen to know that she will be receiving said kitchen and we will have the camera ready and waiting to capture every moment of joy on her face when she receives it!

And you are very blessed. I use to love to sing all the time also, according to My Mom.
