Live Well Wednesdays, Week 3

Well, after not reporting in last week, I'm dragging myself in here for some accountability. I'll start off my saying that last week was absolutely insanely busy, and that was most of the reason why I didn't post. But I won't lie...it was also tough. Valentine's Day hit me full force and I didn't exactly stick to my goals. But I'm not going to beat myself up about it any longer. It's time to move forward and make healthy choices day by day. It's a journey, right? There will be accomplishments and set backs. So here's how I'm doing with my goals.

1. No more pop. I'm doing excellent at this one. It's not much of a temptation anymore. And like I said last time, I want it the most when I'm scrapbooking. And that will happen again on Saturday, so I'm going to do sparkling water instead.

2. No more sweets. I believe I said that I was giving this up for lent. I did great for a week, and then stress and Valentine's Day hit. But I'm happy to say, I'm back on track and sticking to the plan!

3. Drink 6-8 glasses of water a week. I'm hitting between 5-6. I'd really like to increase this because I feel so much better when I do!

4. Record what I eat, and pray for wisdom before eating. Nope. Didn't do these things. Actually completely forgot to do these things. Oops!

5. Get in 3 cardio and 2 strength training workouts each week. Well, I got in some, but not all. I averaged 2 cardio workouts and 1 strength training each week.

Even with all the struggles, I have managed to lose 4 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I have no complaint about that! I've also been better about taking a vitamin and I'm hoping to get stocked up on some more supplements in the next few weeks.

And one last thought. I noticed the quote from Living Well that's in my sidebar today. I thought it was really true and one that I'm going to try to remember thoughout the week.

One of the most satisfying feelings, more satisfying than the temptation itself, is when one can say, "I could have done it, but I didn't."

Sounds like you did okay-4 pounds says something! You are right to just keep moving forward. That is a great way to look at things. Glad you are back and praying for an excellent week.
Much love,
Angela

I simply so not by pop. I may have a rootbeer once in a blue moon but pop in not in my house and if hubby does bring some home, I just remind him sweetly to not do it again. I am not a huge pop drinker but things can be a temptation regardless.

Thanks for the encouragement to keep on moving on!

I too had a bad week... but if we stay focused on living well, choice by choice, we will each do better! you have a great plan going!

I struggled with drinking enough water for years! I finally bought an insulated mug with a large straw. The straw helps me drink more water with each sip. I also didn't allow myself to have pop until my water was all gone!

Those are great goals and it sounds like you're working hard at achieving them! Good for you!! Temptation to quit or relax our efforts just a little are always going to be there -- we just have to keep powering through the weak times! Now, off to follow my own advice and hop on the elliptical....
