Thursday Thirteen #11

I was going to take a break from Thursday Thirteen today, but I think I'll just go with an easy topic.
13 Things that are running through my brain right now, at 7am.
Enjoy!
1. Ahhh....coffee. I love coffee. My coffee smells and tastes sooo good right now. Making coffee is one of the very first things I do in the morning, second only to changing Ella's diaper. Today I actually made the coffee BEFORE she got her diaper changed. Sorry, honey. Today's just one of those days. And I'm drinking my favorite blend- Dunkin Donuts Original. Yum! I must give thanks to my favorite brother Jonathan and his fiance Laura for the wonderful Christmas gift of 2 lbs of this stuff! We've already gone through 1.5 lbs of it so far!
2. AGGH! Ella is getting into the trash can AGAIN! When I grow up, I'm going to have a kitchen with cupboards that are tall enough to fit my garbage can. But of course by then, the kids won't be bothering it anymore. And just to clarify, she is not a garbage picker, just extremely interested in copying Mommy by putting whatever she can find into the garbage can.
3. Good morning Emma! Emma just woke up and is a bit cranky this morning. The first thing she said was, "ARGHARJGM! (or something like that) Don't look at me! Ok, fine. Go sit on the couch, enjoy some "Arthur" or "Curious George" and take some time to wake up. I'll talk to you later.
4. MMMM. I'm loving my coffee.
5. Why do I feel like I'm always cleaning my house? I know I've ranted about this before, but it's true. It's not so much the toys and clutter that bother me as much as the fact that my kitchen is impossible to keep clean! I mean, I pour a bowl of cereal and it's a mess. When I grow up my kitchen is goin to have lots of counter space and a full-sized dishwasher so that I don't have to run 2-3 loads a day. Did I mention lots of counter space? Oh- and it will be larger than 35 square feet.
6. Oh, I just love living in an apartment!
7. Ok, let's pick up the tone here. It's getting a little cranky.
8. I'm debating about taking the girls to the Rec Center today for open gym. I know they would love it. What kid wouldn't love the chance to play for 2 hours in a gym full of big wheels, balls, Little Tykes toys, trampolines, etc. I just don't look forward to chasing my 14-month old around, trying to keep her from getting run over by a big wheel. A few of my friends are going though, and it would be fun to be able to smile at someone I know from across the gym while chasing my youngins. Because there is no socializing during gym time. It's just not possible.
9. This is going to be a busy week! I've been trying to keep my hosue in order because I may have a friend coming to visit for a few days. Right Marlise? :)
10. Since I've run out of things to say, I'll leave you with a few blogs that keep me interested on a pretty-much daily basis. Anything in my sidebar is a blog I frequent on a daily basis. But there are some that stand out as being funny, encouraging, sweet, etc. Go visit some of them!
11. BooMama. www.boomama.net . She is so funny! But not only is she funny, she has a wonderful heart. She's doing something really neat on her blog right now to help out a woman who needs a kidney transplant. Go check it out!
12. Thursday's Child. www.pandacanup.blogspot.com . Not only is she encouraging, she's my sister-in-law!
13. A Chelsea Morning. www.anewchelseamorning.blogspot.com . I don't know what it is about this blog, but Barb is so sweet and genuine.
Ok, now can someone post a comment about how to write a link (as above) without showing the actual web address? I've studied the html in my template, but still can't figure it out. For example, I wanted to write, BooMama, and have you be able to just click on that word and it would take you to her site. Thanks!

The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things. Trackbacks, pings, comment links accepted!

Ecellent post!
I can really relate.
Your words brought excellent visual. I have not had DD coffee for 8 years! I love coffee too.
I am feeling guilty because I have not yet changed daughters diaper. She woke up about 15 minutes ago and is playing with the dog.
Thanks for sharing
Have a wonderful Thursday.
*waves hi to Ella and Emma
My TT is posted

I love your list. I've been thinking the same thing about coffee too. Except I didn't have any.

To get a word to show up as a link and not the actual html link you need to:
1. copy the url from the site you want to link to
2. in your blogger post, type the word you want to act as your link. Then highlight the word.
3. click the link button. It looks like a globe with a paperclip in it.
4. select ok

When you preview the post your word should appear with an underline under it, and the url isn't showing.

I hope that helps!

Melissa: use this HTML below. I copied it directly from my blog. All you have to do is change the URL and the title.

Missy!

Where I've typed "Missy!" is what would appear instead of the URL, but would be an active link.

Hope this helps.

Except don't include the space between "href" and the equal sign. I made a space b/c I didn't want it to turn into a link instead of showing you the html.

Where I've typed "Missy!" is what would appear instead of the URL, but would be an active link.

Hope this helps.

Okay, nevermind. It's always creating an active link. I'll email you the code if you want, though.

Excellent TT! Even though my daughter is older, I can totally relate to most of what you are saying!

My TT on past & current collections is up.

(the link button is on the creat post toolbar--next to the "add picture" button I think. Julie (your sis I presume) is telling you how to input it if you were posting through the HTML format, which you could also do: on the left side of the word you want linked, type
and on the right side
.
this is actually HTML on the comment box, so this might get translated like Julie's comment did, but I tried, right?)

THANKS for the cool plug!

mmm coffee ... I wonder if I have enough ... I'm hoping my peapod order arrives soon ... no there's not coffee in it ... but then I can leave and go meet my husband ... and go raid a real coffee shop for real coffee beans. mmmm coffee ...

ok snapping out of it here!

thank you so much for the tip re BooMama and Kelli. I ck on them both about once a week and Kelli's been on my heart. She's actually in my T13 this week. BUT somehow I totally missed BooMama's plans! You can bet I'll be spreading the word around!

Oh yeah I did a T13 also, it's my usual del.icio.us ... a couple of people standing in the need of prayer and financial help ... a self discovery ... lots of ways for you to over-commit just like me ... and a couple of stories. OH and invite to help my daughter and me tell our story.
