Day #2 Update

Hello? Is it still March? March 13? Then why is it currently 72 degrees here instead of the 35 degrees that it should be? And don't talk to me about global warming, I don't buy into any of that stuff. Pure political agenda. But anyway, I digress.

This day has been bea. u. ti. ful. The sun is shining, the sky is blue, the thousands of squirrels that populate my apartment complex have come out of their nests and are scampering about. It's wonderful! But don't fret, it is forcasted to be back to the normal 35 degrees by Thursday.

Since we were still at home and in our pj's at 10:30 this morning, we opted to go to the park rather than the zoo today. Todd has to leave for work at 2, and it wouldn't have given us time enough to walk the vast expanse that the zoo is. Todd is planning to take the girls tomorrow, though, as I have a lot of Body Shop orders to deliver.

The park was really nice. I realized that this was the first time Ella had ever been able to "play" at the park. Last summer she was just too little. She had a great time-when I put her in the baby swing, she just laughed and laughed. Emma was such a great big sister and even took her down the side a few times.

There is a downside of going to the park on a beautiful day after being cooped up all winter. The kids don't want to leave. Emma threw a HUGE fit when we were walking back to the car. She tried every excuse in the book. "I want a drink!" (the fountains weren't turned on yet.) "I have to go potty!" (the bathrooms were locked.) And when all else failed, she sat down on the ground and said, "But I'm crying! I can't walk!" I think we have a drama queen on our hands! No sooner had we gotten her to the car than Ella realized what was going on, and she started screaming! At least she couldn't protest with words.

Ahh, the joys of parenthood. It was a good day overall though, and I'm proud to say that I have resisted all manner of temptation to break my diet today. Todd has become a traitor and I am happy to tell him so. It all started when he forgot he was dieting and popped a Yogos (a new snack that I bought for Emma) in his mouth. "Cheater!" I yelled. I caught him popping some more a little later on. Oh well, as long as he's supportive of me, I guess I don't care too much. My other victory today was when I got Chicken Nuggets and fries for the girls and I didn't eat even one fry. Not even one.

Now I must go remove my pride and fix myself some "on-plan" dinner. The day isn't over yet!

What a good girl! I am really impressed and proud of you! And by-the-way after our little call and all that talk about yummy treats I had a brownie last night when Mandy was here. Thanks a lot...back on the wagon this morning!
love you!

Way to go! Wow, I could never do that south beach thing. Way too regemented for me. I totally applaud you--standing, even.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying the weather like we are. Though I'm already dreading the heat...what else is new? I guess I just need to enjoy the mildness for as long as it lasts. We went to the park too--it makes me sad to think how much fun the cousins could have had together. Oh, well. Maybe sometime soon:)
Love you guys--and even Todd, although he is a cheater!

Who said I actually get to scrap in that space? ha. It is ALWAYS on my to-do list...but by the time I do the other stuff (laundry, changing diapers, making lunch, cleaning up from lunch, etc.) I'm too tired!
