Nemo and Mia are coming to visit!

Next week, my sister and her 2 kids are coming for a visit. We are very excited around here because we haven't seen them in nearly 3 years! Emma is especially excited to see Nemo. They were just toddlers when they last played together, and I doubt either of them actually remember each other. They know each other from pictures, but that's about it. And Mia, well, she's just 17 months old, so we've never even met her!
This morning Emma and I worked on making a "Countdown Book." We made one page for each of the "sleeps" that are left before Nemo and Mia arrive. Whenever something exciting is coming up, Emma always asks me how many "sleeps" until it happens. I thought this would be a great way to help her look forward to their arrival!

Emma works on cutting the paper.

I wrote the numbers and words, and Emma drew the pictures. When I was writing the numbers, Emma said "Mama, are we counting backwards like a rocket?" So cute! And quite possibly a sign that she watches too much "Little Einsteins".

One of our pages.

It takes a lot of concentration to get every color on one page!

Emma is so proud of our project. We put it on our fridge and we will take a page off every morning!

That's a great idea, Melissa! Kind of like the paper chains we make around Thanksgiving to count down the days until Christmas. I'm so happy for you guys -- I know you miss each other! Hope you have a great visit.

This baby is yours now! One of my bloggin' pals, Michelle, bestowed it on me, and now I'm passing it on to you, for obvious reasons, some of them not even related to the blog. Enjoy!

It didn't let me copy the picture into the comments. Oh, well, you can see it posted on my blog.
